Halloween Gift Basket Ideas

Creating a Halloween gift basket is an excellent idea, especially if you are hosting a Halloween party. You can easily give a small gift basket to each guest, or create a large one for a centerpiece. Some popular gift basket ideas include a cauldron of treats, a Halloween cookie graveyard and a caramel apple box.

A cauldron of treats

Basic cauldrons and pumpkin pails are readily available around Halloween time for decoration. Pick small ones to give away to each person, or choose a large one to make a centerpiece display. Fill the cauldron with a variety of Halloween candies and treats. Then, decorate it with a ribbon, and put colored cellophane over it if you plan to give one out individually. Do not cover a centerpiece with cellophane to ensure that your guests feel free to take some treats.

A cookie graveyard

Halloween goes hand in hand with spookiness, and few things are spookier than graveyards. Create sugar cookies in different graveyard shapes, including headstones, mummies and ravens. Frost and decorate them to make them more realistic looking, and consider piping people's names on the gravestones. Lay out the cookies in a rectangular box to make a graveyard, and add a few plastic spiders and cobwebs for an even eerier look.

A caramel apple box

Caramel apples are a popular treat around Halloween as well, and you can easily make a variety of caramel apples for a nice gift basket. Dip the caramel apples in candy corns while still wet to create fun-looking apples, or use candy pumpkins to make a decoration. You can make little witches by using the apples as faces, attaching black licorice to the top of the apple and piping facial features over the caramel. Wrap each apple individually in the basket to prevent them from sticking to one another.

There are many new Halloween gift basket ideas available every year, and you can easily make individual gifts or one large basket. Use popular Halloween items like pumpkins, graveyards and other shapes to bring the holiday to life.
