Great Gift Baskets for Thanksgiving

It is that time of year again, and if you are like 70 percent of Americans, you are going to eat Thanksgiving dinner at someone else's home. How can you make a great impression on your host and hostess this year? Put together a lovely Thanksgiving gift basket to show your appreciation.
Something sweet
You can never go wrong with chocolate, especially during the holidays. Consider including a box of truffles or chocolate-dipped strawberries for your host, or choose something that takes your hosts personal tastes into account. A nice bottle of wine or festive liqueur gives your gift basket a nice weight and bulk.
Something thoughtful
Does your hostess enjoy Black Friday sales? Include a Starbucks gift card for the 5am rush, or a gift card to her favorite shop. Is your hostess a busy mom with small children? You might consider tucking a coloring book and some crayons into the basket as a perfect last-minute distraction to keep the kids engaged and out from underfoot.
Something useful
Maybe your hostess is a whiz in the kitchen; after all, she is hosting Thanksgiving dinner. A nice new serving utensil could make a great addition to her kitchen, as there are never enough to go around when it is time to host a big dinner. Do not forget to include a new corkscrew or sommelier knife to go along with the bottle of wine you included. Also ask yourself if basket itself double as a bread basket for Thanksgiving dinner.
